We nurture and nourish each child in our school, regardless of race, background or disability. Some of our children come to Alexandra speaking English as a Second language and we respect the language and culture of their home environment. Children in the early stages of learning English, receive extra support from trained teachers on a weekly basis. Our teaching resources also reflect the diverse culture in which we live and children are strongly encouraged to treat all other people with respect.
We have strong links with local Traveller families and many Traveller children receive extra support from Hounslow’s Traveller Support Service.
The progress of all these children is carefully monitored to ensure that they are not disadvantaged due to their cultural or ethnic background.
The single storey and open plan nature of Alexandra ensures that children with disabilities have full access to the facilities throughout the school.
