999 + 55 (Silent Solution)

In certain situations, a 999 call will be required, but the caller may not be able to speak – perhaps because doing so will put either themselves or someone else in danger. To make it clear you need assistance when talking could worsen the situation, you need to enter 55 when prompted which will route the call to the police.

  • Collapsed or unsafe buildings or structures
  • Emergency repairs to council owned property
  • General incidents or emergencies
  • Homelessness
  • Linkline
  • Incidents in schools, libraries, leisure centres, parks, playgrounds
  • Media requesting a council spokesperson
  • Noise nuisance
  • Social services emergencies
  • Street and pavement issues such as traffic lights, streetlights, signs and blocked drains
  • Traffic accidents
  • Urgent death certificates

StepChange Debt Charity

Hounslow Council works together with the StepChange Debt Charity to provide debt advice and solutions to people in financial difficulty.

StepChange is a registered charity offering free, confidential advice and support to anyone who is worried about debt.  The StepChange FREEPHONE helpline is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday, on 0800 138 1111.

Hounslow Targeted Early Help Services

ThThe Family Support service offers guidance to families with multiple and complex needs including challenging behaviour, poor school attendance, experienced/witnessed domestic abuse, mental health difficulties & issues surrounding finance or unemployment. The service is available to families with children aged between 5 - 17 years (including children under 5 in the same household).
