Alexandra Primary School – Curriculum Intention Summary

At Alexandra Primary School, our curriculum is designed to inspire children to Aspire, Perform and Succeed. We aim to provide a rich, broad and ambitious curriculum that is enjoyable, engaging and relevant to the lives of our pupils, while ensuring they are fully prepared for the next stage of their education and for life in modern Britain. 

Our curriculum is built around three core aims:

• Aspire – developing successful learners who enjoy learning, are ambitious, creative and independent.
• Perform – enabling children to achieve highly, make strong progress and become confident individuals who live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
• Succeed – nurturing responsible citizens who demonstrate resilience, collaboration, responsibility and reliability, making a positive contribution to society.

We believe that all children deserve access to a curriculum that:

• Is rooted in the National Curriculum and adapted to meet the needs of our community.
• Builds knowledge and skills progressively so that children know more, remember more and can apply their learning confidently.
• Promotes high expectations and achievement for all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND.
• Develops children's character, values, wellbeing and cultural capital.
• Encourages children to think critically, make connections across subjects and become lifelong learners.
• Reflects and celebrates the diverse community of Hounslow while broadening children's experiences beyond their immediate environment.

Through memorable experiences, high-quality teaching, enrichment opportunities, reading, writing, oracy and strong subject knowledge, we want every child to leave Alexandra Primary School as a confident, respectful and compassionate learner who is ready for the opportunities, responsibilities and challenges of secondary education and adult life.
