ONLINE PHONICS LESSONS

We are pleased to let you know that your child can receive a daily phonics lesson whilst schools are closed. Phonics is the way we teach children to recognise the sounds in words. It helps your child to learn to read and is an essential part of your child’s education.

During the summer term, you will be able to access for your child a daily phonics lesson by Clicking on Letters and Sounds for home and school. All lessons are introduced by celebrities, including children’s TV presenters, which adds an exciting addition to the lessons.

We hope you’re well and keeping safe during this difficult time.

As you / your child is a participant with one of our community projects, we are getting in touch with you to see how we can support you during the Covid-19 crisis. A couple of weeks ago, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust launched its #BeeatHome campaign that encourages children and adults to stay active within their homes. The Trust aims to deliver educational and physical activity content to the whole family.

Some of the online activities we are currently available for you and your family are:

Online exercise groups for children and young people

Maths and English challenges in partnership with the Premier League’s Primary Stars initiative

30 Seconds Online Challenges

Online health and fitness for adults

Exercise for over 60s

Specialist online activities for children with disabilities.

Other activities coming soon:

Running, Walking and Cycling Virtual Challenges

FIFA competitions for young people (with prizes)

However, we want to continue developing content that you think you and your child(ren) will enjoy, and we need your help.

We have put together a short questionnaire for you to fill in – this should only take up to three minutes of your time. Plus, the first 100 participants will receive a free activity pack from the Trust ASAP and one lucky winner will win a signed Brentford shirt.

You can access the questionnaire here.

For any further questions, please email us at enquiries@brentfordfccst.com
We look forward to delivering exciting online activities for you and your family during this period.
