Swimming Lessons at Alexandra Primary School

Children in Year 4 are taught to swim by qualified swimming instructors at our local swimming pool in Heston. Children swim weekly.

 

Swimming Data

We collect data on the percentage of pupils within our Y6 cohort who met the national curriculum requirement to:

• swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
• use a range of strokes effectively
• perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

Data for our current Y6 is unavailable due to the national lockdown from March 2020 meaning swimming lessons were interrupted.

A Google Survey was undertaken to assess students current proficiency.
